BrewDog Camden

They make it, they drink it, and now they're selling it too

Scotland and Camden have a lot in common -- they've a strong drinking culture, a vibrant alternative scene, and anything north of them is a terrifying wasteland...as far as anyone knows. For some kilted barley-poppers looking to further shore up the connection, stop by BrewDog Camden.

Opening their first English outpost a stone's from Camden tube, the Scots behind BD will continue their proud tradition of slinging a stunning diversity of hops within this spartan double-floored space sporting huge windows, bare low-hung lightbulbs, and a bar topped with cement despite serving almost zero mixers.

Instead, the place has 18 daily changing taps, plus literally hundreds of bottles, and'll feature all the 'Dog regulars incl. their 5am Saint, Hops Kill Nazis, and a special Christmas Porter, plus rarities like the whiskey cask-aged Paradox, and their world's-strongest, 41% quadruple IPA Sink the Bismarck -- careful, lest you learn the true meaning of blood, sweat, and beers.

Packing a beast like that, they're of course confident enough to let in other brewers, and so offer world-spanning crafts from meaty Danish stout Beer Geek Breakfast Bacon, to extraordinarily thick California porter Old Viscosity, plus the highly drinkable Japanese Red Rice ale, and Tall Poppy, a fruity India Red from New Zealand that proves those guys aren't all black.

They're fully equipped with an off-license, and you're free to take home bottles or a two-liter reusable "growler". As if that's not enough, they've bussed in MasterChef winner Tim Anderson to drum up a gourmet burger/ 'za menu, providing the ballast you'll need to prevent your night from heading south, and you becoming the wasteland.
